Who
The Journeymen, currently over 70 men from the Patuxent Presbyterian Church and the local community, have been meeting together to develop more meaningful and transparent relationships, to build a better biblical understanding of manhood and to address current issues facing men today. We started meeting in the Fall of 2007 and since then, have seen an increase in the number of men participating as the word is spread about this ministry. Our goal is to use this Journeymen ministry to involve other churches, organizations and men of the area in this community based men's ministry. This effort is not intended to increase church membership, raise funds or push any agenda except to provide the men of our community an opportunity to experience fellowship, develop relationships (including our relationship with God) and seek a better understanding of what Manhood means. We are interested in having more community involvement and to have participation from other men’s organizations to enable their men's ministry.
What
The Journeymen have been involved in the weekly series based on the Men's Fraternity material from Pastor Robert Lewis of Little Rock, Arkansas. The Journeymen sessions involve 45 minutes of watching a DVD from the Men's Fraternity series (visit http://www.mensfraternity.com to see more about the series) and 30 to 45 minutes of small group discussion.
We currently have two opportunities for participation in 2009. "The Winning at Work and Home" series (16 weeks) starts in September 2009 and runs until February. The third series, "The Great Adventure" (20 weeks), started in February 2009 and will complete in the Fall. The first series "The Quest for Authentic Manhood" (24 weeks), will be offered again in January 2010. The first series provides a better definition of manhood, a common manhood language, and some insights into specific manhood areas that most men face and helps men deal with wounds that they carry around with them. The second series specifically addresses tools and insights for improving your relationship with your wife, your family and your happiness at work. "The Great Adventure" helps men rediscover the adventure in life through a greater understanding of who they are. Those that have attended all three series are amazed on how each series is even betterthan the previous series.
Where
The Journeymen host these events at the Patuxent Presbyterian Church fellowship hall located on Route 4 at Kingston Creek Road. It is the big white church before you cross the Solomon's bridge into Calvert County.
When
Two opportunities for participation run weekly until completion. You do not have to attend the first offering to attend the second or third offerings and you can join in on the sessions at any time.

"The Great Adventure" is offered Friday mornings from 6:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., with doors opening for breakfast at 5:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
Please open the schedules to see when and what sessions are scheduled and remember, you can join in on a series at any time.
Why
The conventional definition of manhood is a falsehood and men need a better, more insightful and biblically based definition of manhood. There are three main causal factors to the decline of manhood in the world today; man being separated from their families on a daily basis, men being emotionally separated from their families, and the lack of a specific role for men.
The Journeymen ministry is about men taking a journey to enjoy better lives as men. There is no cost to attend, so there is nothing to lose in giving it a try. It may be one of the most important things you do.
How
Men of the Patuxent Presbyterian Church decided during a men's retreat in 2007 that we didn't have meaningful and transparent relationships with other men, even men that they had been worshipping with and going on retreats with for several years. This was the catalyst to investigating a more regular men's fellowship or men's small group offering that would benefit the men of the church and the community. Once we listened to the Men's Fraternity Workshop video and a sampling of the sessions from Quest, we decided this was what we were being called by God to do for our men and for our community.
