Missions

Under the leadership of the deacons, the Community Ministry Committee provides special help to those in need in our area.
  • Food collected by the congregation is distributed through H.O.P.E., a community-coordinated group.
  • Every month we take a special collection for the 2 Cents A Meal program, where we ask each person to set aside two cents for each meal they eat. This collection is divided between the H.O.P.E. food pantry, S.M.I.L.E., and the Presbyterian World Hunger Program.
  • Donations of time, talent and money are offered to other community organizations such as:
  • Once a year, a group from the church travels to depressed areas of West Virginia or Tennessee where they join other Presbyterian churches in repairing or renovating houses for the poor.
We are looking forward to expanding our mission efforts in Calvert County.
